Don Shepherd (email Don)
Owner, Realtor & Principal Broker, Licensed in Tennessee and North Carolina
Don Shepherd was born and raised in this part of the country. Hard work came natural to Don whose first job as a youth was picking beans in Shady Valley for 35 cents a bushel. Don's sense of community led him to the Tennessee Police Academy where he was the class president and later served his community as a police officer where he quickly rose to the rank of Colonel. In 1998 Don graduated from the Mendenhall School of Auctioneering. Also that same year Don was licensed as a real estate agent then soon after as a Broker. To further benefit his clients Don was certified as a Personal Property Appraiser in 2006.
When not working or spending time with his wife Mary, 4 children, and 7 grandchildren, Don likes to relax by going hunting or fishing
Don is honest, hard working, and the true definition of a Country Gentlemen. |

Sharon Phillips (email Sharon)
Realtor, Licensed in Tennessee
Sharon is admittedly what locals call a "halfback". For those who don't know that is a person who was born in the north, moved to the deep south (usually Florida) then moved half way back and settled in Tennessee. In Sharon's case she was born in Michigan grew up in Florida and has now gone halfback and settled in "GOD's country".
Sharon and her husband Dave came to Johnson county a number of years ago on a long weekend away from their home in Charlotte North Carolina. The scenic beauty and the friendly people made them long to call Tennessee home. It wasn't long before that dream was realized!
In 2004 they purchased and with the help of Sharon's brother Jeff, remodeled the Fish Springs Convenience Store and added an apartment above the store where Sharon and Dave now live.
Sharon's brother Jeff and his wife Beck sold their home in Florida and are now residents of Butler Tennessee, where Jeff is a volunteer fireman for Butler and Becky helps write and publish the Poga Gazette and will also soon be a volunteer fire(woman) in Butler.
In addition to her brother Jeff, Sharon's two children have also moved to Tennessee with their families. Sharon feels blessed to have her son, John (seen below), as a Partner here at RE/MAX.
Having worked in the Health Care field for 30 years Sharon loves working with and meeting people. For Sharon selling real estate and working at Fish Tales at the Lake is a perfect way to meet people who live in and love the area, and to share information with her new neighbors coming to live in N.E. Tennessee.

John Phillips has been visiting and vacationing in these mountains since 1997, and the Phillips family has owned property here since 1999. In 2004 John's parents renovated and opened a small family grocery store / sandwich shop called Fish Tales at the Lake, that has a gorgeous view over the Fish Springs Marina and Watauga Lake.
In 2006 their strong sense of family and passion for this area caused John and his wife Cheryl to leave their home and successful business in Ormond Beach Florida to establish roots and raise their 4 beautiful children here in Tennessee.
John's diligent work ethic has seen him through careers as diverse as food preparation and management to owning and operating a highly successful landscape maintenance company. However it was John's love for buying and fixing up houses for resale that evenatually led him to acquire his real estate license after relocating to Tennessee.
John has partnered up with his mom, Sharon Phillips, here at RE/MAX, to give you the client the friendly, timely and knowledgeable service you deserve. Their goal is to answer every question a client or potential client may have, and to make the experience of buying or selling a home, property or commercial real estate as smooth and easy as possible. Their hard work ethic and family values give them and you and advantage in the real estate market.
When not working John enjoys spending time with his family at home, on the lake, or riding in the mountains.

Nestor Robles (bilingual agent) (email Nestor)
Realtor, Mortgage Broker, Licensed in Tennessee
Nestor grew up in New York City. He studied and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from New York Institute of Technology. He found his way to Miami Florida, where he worked for several large developers in the Design/Construction supervision arena.
Along the course of doing business, Nestor became familiar with bankers and financial institutions; he became personally involved and opened his own mortgage company. He now helps from the ‘First Time Homebuyer’ to the seasoned Investor.
It was the Development of a high-end log homes project that brought Nestor to this area. This area quickly captured his heart. So much so, that, he met and married his new wife here!
Nestor wants to use all his knowledge and experience in design, construction, lending, and Real Estate to help you the customer achieve your plans and dreams here in the High Country!
